How much are taxes on a cruise plus round trip airfare? ?

Question from Reader – Answer in Comments

I entered into a drawing and won a 4 day and 3 night cruise including round trip airfare. I asked the company, Travel Wise, is it free, and they said yes. They also said that I would have to pay the taxes. Can anyone give me a rough estimate on how much taxes would be?

    Do you know which cruise company this is with? It would be very difficult to know since the rates differ according to where you are staying on board. You can have a suite with your own balcony or an indoor cabin way down the lower decks. So if you did have pay pay taxes, it will depend on that. You will still have to pay gratuities for the cleaner, waiters etc..

    If you know which cruise line and cruise ship it is and when you are traveling, it is best to check with the cruise line.
    Are you sure your winning is not a scam to make you pay “taxes”?

    Some cruises are very inexpensive. Do a search for cruise ships.
