What is the best honeymoon spot in Colorado?

Question from Reader – Answer in Comments

I am planning a wedding in March and wanted to know the best spot in Colorado to have a honeymoon. We wanted somewhere cold, but have no interest in snowboarding or skiing. We want a log cabin and just some dining and maybe fun/interesting things to do that are not “sporty”. All ideas are much appreciated!!

MY family is from Denver CO. If I were you…and you are looking for a nice romantic get away Look up an area called Grand Lake, Colorado. Incredible Area. Beautiful. Right off of the trail ridge Rd. That goes, through Rocky Mountain Nation Park.

You can rent a cabin in Grand Lake, Co. and drive up north east on trail ridge (The highest road in the United States.) It is incredible to take your car up there and see the mountains. (And these are some huge honkin big mountains dude. You can see huge Elk and Deer, Mountain sheep etc. All protected because of the park.

After you keep driving the trail ridge you come upon Estes Park. Another really awesome place! Lot’s of different shops and historical landmarks here. Great place to take a loved one and see the sites. (The Hotel from the movie The Shining is also located here. the Jack Nickolson movie) Also If you go down even further on the highway you can come to the city of Boulder. A great destination to see plenty of other sights and wonders.

Let me know by messaging me if you want to know more about other areas in Co. I frequent visit there for family and snowboarding trips…but I know you weren’t interested in that part.

If you are looking into something different think about Grand Junction. It is a very beautiful are that is NOT primarily a skiing area like Aspen, Vail, etc.

I’ve attached a link to the visitors website for you to explore yourself. There is great sightseeing around this area.
